Where life happens
MAKE IT MATTER
Brief
Following the success of “For Life in the Making”, West Brom wanted to extend the established photographic style into a new community-focused campaign.
The original work heroed individuals; this next phase needed to evolve that same authentic, editorial aesthetic into real-life scenarios, celebrating the diversity of West Bromwich while creating a flexible image bank for national use across digital, print and in-branch materials.
Approach
Maintaining continuity was key. We carefully cast real people from the area and selected genuine local locations to preserve authenticity and pride of place.
Four scenarios were captured to reflect everyday community life: young people on the move, a family in a local restaurant, professional women playing 5-a-side football, and older adults at a leisure centre. Each scene was shot with a documentary and reportage, and refined composition, natural, confident and elevated without feeling staged. Capturing shared moments of real life.
Impact
The imagery strengthened West Brom’s brand rollout by building a scalable, premium asset library rooted in authenticity.
By avoiding generic financial-sector stock photography and focusing on real community moments, the work helped position the Society as a modern, people-first brand. One that is grounded locally, yet confident nationally.
